SPORTS

Sport is an important part of our school culture, and we strongly advocate the involvement of our children in a wide range of activities. All children have sports instruction throughout the year and it would be appreciated if they brought clothing suitable for those activities (see section on swimming below). A note from home is required if a child is to be excused from physical activities.

We have a wide range of sports equipment available for the children's use at interval and lunchtime.

The school encourages all children to participate in a range of organised sports. As a school we field teams in cricket, basketball, netball, volleyball, water polo, and hockey (held on the artificial turf in Levin) competitions. Saturday competition in rugby, and soccer is organised by local clubs.

SWIMMING

During the 1st term, the teaching of swimming in our pool.  This is part of the normal school Health and PE programme, and we expect all children to take part.

They need to bring named togs and towels in a swimming bag or plastic bag.
