Principal’s Corner Ko wai au? Ko Takitimu te waka Kia Ora It is with great humility and pride that I embrace the role of Tumuaki of Coley Street School. While my whakapapa traces back to the south, my true home has always been here in Te Awahou, Foxton. My connection with this community began over 55 years ago, when I first started my formal education here at Coley Street School. My three daughters have been students here, and I have had the privilege of witnessing four of my nine grandchildren learn and thrive within these grounds. Foxton is a wonderful town. Like many small rural communities, we face certain challenges, but these are softened by the strong sense of belonging and community that binds us together. Coley Street School is more than just a place of learning—it is a place of turangawaewae—a space to stand and to belong. We are fortunate to have dedicated teachers who genuinely invest in the well-being of our students. As Principal, my vision is to enhance academic success for all our children while maintaining a strong focus on well-being, fostering meaningful relationships, and nurturing a robust sense of identity. I am committed to serving in this role with integrity, dedicated to our students, whanau, and community. I hope to always be approachable and real. There is no problem too big to overcome if we listen, care, and work together for the good of all our tamariki. Nga mihi nui Whaea Tina Principal
